Day 10: the many faces of silk
Yaya's mother was trying to force feed us noodles, candy and anything else she could find in the fridge but all we could think about was finding a decent toilet.
After showering and changing, in her one room apartment, we got a taxi across the entire city to the Hilton. Thanks to sister Melanie for the valuable lesson learned in Paris - never use a McDonald's bathroom when you can go to a 5 star hotel where no one will ever ask questions. This was probably the most expensive crap in Beijing since we paid 50 Yuan, travelling about 20 kilometers. Talking about possible plans for the day, we taught Bo a new expression : peter dans la soie.
Silk was the theme of the day and we tried to find perfect silk for Rebecca's dress. First we went to a very pricey silk market - visited by the "President of Switchland", wherever that is. We also had fun zigzagging through the aisles and trying to lose the sales guy who followed us around the entire store.
Then we ate at another Biejing noodle place - but this time we gave our leftovers to some beggars in the streets.
Rebecca finally chose silk after having a near panic attack when revisiting the nightmarish silk market from a couple days earlier.
As we wandered trying to kill the rest of the day until our night train to Heze, we tried to go to the Green T House. But it was closed! However, they let us in for a visit (no pictures allowed but you can visit their website :http://www.greenteahouse.com.cn )
